Art Programs

Art

Students in all grades explore visual concepts through art, such as line, pattern, color and texture. They complete art projects that involve working with different mediums, including watercolor, pastels, chalk, construction paper, art paper and canvas.

Students’ artwork includes: drawings with vanishing points and two and three-point perspectives; paintings with different mixes of warm, cool, analogous and complementary colors; textured objects and animals; geometric and free-form tessellations; graffiti; and art panels.

Music Programs

In music class, students examine these elements as they listen, sing, dance to and play music: rhythm, beat, harmony, melody, timbre, consonance, dissonance and instrumentation. Activities include playing as an ensemble, listening to music of different eras (e.g., Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque) and playing bells, drums and other percussion instruments.
